Washington D.C. Schools are willing to start a new language immersion program in the principal school level. Starting in August of 2006, the language immersion application will be joined by pre pupils of various language backgrounds. Specifically, Spanish and French speaking kids are essential to begin this 2 way immersion experience. Students may get Spanish or either English content courses taught by teachers. Kids talk a foreign language and born in 2001 and early 2002 are invited to register.

The Shepard Elementary School program is part of the Washington D.C. Public School System’s continuing attempts to incorporate the International Baccalaureate Program to the basic school level. Starting in August 2006, all tier levels at Shepard Elementary college will start engaging in this program that is globally recognized.

The Main Years Program

The main Years Program is intended to educate the entire child through a variety of tasks. Designed for students aged three it focuses in all sorts of development, such as physical, social, psychological, cultural, and academic and entails a general maturation of the brain, body, and center. The program is printed in English, French, and Spanish. The main Years Program is intended to prepare pupils for the International Baccalaureate Program, a college preparatory program offered around the world. The debut of the Primary Years Program at Washington, D.C. is in reaction to the large global community that works and lives in the region.

The Primary Years Program to be able to educate, Shepard had to undergo several phases to make sure that an global standard would be reflected by the program. Washington D.C. schools entered the Consideration Stage, since they conducted research to the ability for colleges such as Shepard to meet the stringent requirements for entrance to the application.
