Island Associates wins 2009 Hardscape Award from Hardscape North America (HNA)
(Massapequa, N.Y.) – Island Associates, a Long Island landscape design and masonry company, won the HNA Hardscape Award for Residential Clay Brick 1,000-5000 square feet. The HNA Hardscape Award is produced by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and endorsed by the Brick Industry Association, the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA) and the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association.
About the winning project: This project needed to meet the needs of a young and expanding family that enjoys frequent social gatherings and wanted to keep with the formal traditional style of the home. Clay brick was chosen to match the front facade of the home. Bluestone, dry-stacked stone, thermal dimensional Bluestone, Long Island boulders, and granite accents were used to give the project variety and to enhance the beauty of the clay brick.
